[Kid Icarus OC] Manakel - reference sheet

Due to some circumstances, I had to change the previous ''Green'' OC. And since I absolutely love Kid Icarus: Uprising, plus being an user of Dark Pit in Smash Wii U (would have use Pit if his Final Smash was better!), I went to create an OC in that franchise. This lil' angel has a very interesting creation story, let me tell ya. He also became my 5th main OC, meaning he has a special place in my heart (his creation story mainly affected the decision). So, before his bio, let me share with you that amazing creation story:

Since the day I discovered that I had a guardian angel named Manakel, I wanted to create a character bearing his name along with a somewhat angelic design. The possibility could be done when I discovered Kid Icarus. Since the main theme of this game is like angels and (let's say) Greco-Roman mythology, I made some research among the gods and goddess. I learned that, just like birthstones, there is a divinity assignated to each month. Mine happens to be Dionysos/Bacchus, God of Wine and many other things. And I found coincidences between the beings linking somewhat to my birthday, I was simply amazed.;

- Both has the Amethyst as symbolic gem;
- Manakel's color is green, and Dionysos/Bacchus is sometimes given the title of God of Nature (and what's the color we assign to nature?);
- Both has Aquarius as main Zodiac symbol (which is mine);
- Fun facts; my father's name comes from the God of Wine himself in the Croatian language (a quick research will tell what it is), and my mother was born in May, meaning that her birthstone is the Emerald (a green gem). As a joke, my father is a god and my mother is a guardian angel, lol.

It's mainly from these elements that this Manakel was born. Some details were also added, like his specie. Dionysos/Bacchus is sometimes depicted as a half god/half human, while my character is also an hybrid, but from an angel instead of a god (these beings are known as ''Nephilim(s)''. They're in the Bible, so I didn't create the specie).


Name: Manakel.

Specie: Nephilim, or half-angel/half-human.

Gender: Male, but looks androgynous, it is hard to properly tell his gender sometimes.

Height: Around 5'00''.

Age: Unknown.

Season of birth: Spring.

Personality: Manakel is a stoic and honest angel, and is far less dependent than Pit. Since Dark Pit raised him, it's not surprising that the young Nephilim has a somewhat similar attitude to the dark angel, mostly his common sense. However, he's still Pit's kid and young, meaning he's slitghly more childish and cheerful than his uncle, except when talking about his specie. Manakel's a good confident, he won't reveal any secrets you tell him, unless they are indeed dangerous for someone, and will intervene in that case, since he strongly believe that his destiny is to become a guardian angel. 

Relationship(s):

- Viridi; goddess ancestor, see her as his grand-mother.

- Pit; father.

- Flora; deceased mother.

- Dark Pit; male angelic mentor, see him as his uncle.

- Arès; life-time best friend.

Likes: nature, plants, to fly, his best buddy, music, music instruments, tea, salad, fruits, acting as a guardian angel, slight breezes.

Dislikes:  pollution, war, arguing with Viridi, losing feathers on purpose, the Underworld Army, failing as a guardian angel, thinking of having his wings removed, people making fun of his outfit (mainly the purple and floral parts), strong winds, talking about his specie, death.

Power(s):

- Can communicate with gods.

- Can fly by himself (no needs of the Power of Flight).

- Is an expert in plants.

- Can act as a guardian angel for a human (for a very short amount of time, since he doesn't offically have the title yet). 

Story: Manakel was born from the union of the angel Pit and a human woman named Flora. She wanted so desperatly a child that she seek help from her ancestor, the Goddes of Nature Viridi. The goddess agreed to help by giving her some pheromones that could attract any man. But Viridi didn't know that her descendant would use it on Pit, as Flora fell in love when she saw the angel flying near her home. When the young woman confirmed her pregnancy, she went to announce it to Viridi, who quickly became extremely worried. The goddess explained to her that she was carrying a giant-to-be monster, a Nephilim, who would go on a killing spree shortly after its birth. The young mother begged her ancestor to help her once again, and she was given a blessing that would make sure that her baby will not become the typical Nephilim. Sadly, Flora died during the birth of her son, and her last request was to have his child named after her guardian angel, Manakel. Viridi then requested Pit to take care of his newborn son, he refused, as he was 100% loyal to Palutena. She decided to take care of the child herself, as he is one of her ''grandchilds'', along with some help of Dark Pit, as Manakel would need a male model in his life. Manakel grew as a rather happy child, and he's seen flying around and making medicinal herbs, as well as helping others.

Nephilims are, if you look in the Bible, giant monsters. The reason why Manakel doesn't have that shape is thanks to the blessing of Viridi that she did on his mother when she was pregnant.

Technically, Manakel's allegiance are both to Palutena's Army (by having Pit as father) and the Forces of Nature (his ancestor being Viridi, and his mother was a close follower of her as well). However, due to Pit not wanting to care of his son when the mother passed away and being 100% loyal to Palutena, he was place under Viridi and Dark Pit's care. This means he is officially in the Forces of Nature.

He's deeply attached to his life-time best friend Ares. They have been sometimes compared as brothers... (and retards or homosexuals because the they act together, lol).

Manakel learned to fly by watching birds and their anatomy, along with a little help from Dark Pit.

Gods and goddesses often mistakes him for being Viridi and Pit's son, due to him having blonde hair (a trait from Viridi and her descendants), nature-themed clothes and Pit's eyes.

He dreams of being a guardian angel, to honor the name he bears.

Being part angel, his lifespan is greater than the one of a human, but not as long as a pure-blooded angel.

The reason why Manakel dislikes to talk about his specie is because normal Nephilims are giants destroyers, which is not his case at all. In some versions of their origins, if their angelic parent dies, they die with him/her. So, just like Dark Pit, Manakel strongly believes that his life is linked to Pit's. However, he doesn't know yet that Viridi's blessing actually removed that terrific end.

Personal facts:

His color theme is green.

His symbol is a white feather.

His theme song is ''The Prayer'' performed by Chloë Agnew, member of the Celtic Woman.

In a Persona game, he would have been from the Justice Arcana. Individuals under this Arcana are stoic persons with a strong sense of justice, which explains Manakel's personality very well.
